HISTORY OF DIM SUM

AVAILABLE PER REQUEST FOR GROUPS OF 20 OR MORE

Along the Silk Road, weary travelers stopped into the local teahouse for an afternoon of tea and relaxing conversation. As tea’s ability to aid in digestion and cleanse the palate became known, tea house proprietors began adding a variety of snacks, and the tradition of dim sum was born. Dim Sum literally mean “touching of the heart” and is often translated as “foods that would delight your heart.”

The dim sum luncheon is a set menu which may include some of the items listed below. If you would like to get a listing of your menu on the day of the tour, contact us. With advanced notice, our restaurant partners are happy to make substitutions for guests with dietary restrictions.
